10:00 a.m. is during morning. 10:00 p.m. is during night. The previous answers are correct, however I suspect you actually want to know the difference between them instead. Am I right? Any time listed after 12 midnight and before noon should be followed by a.m. and time listed after 12 noon yet before midnight should be followed by p.m.. Noon is 12:00 p.m. and midnight is 12:00 a.m..

P.M.= post-meridian, or the hours from noon to midnight.
So, 10:00 A.M. occurs in the morning hours, and 10:00 P.M. is in the evening hours.
In military time (or 24 hours), 10:00 a.m. would be called "10 hundred hours" and 10 p.m. would be "20 hundred hours." ; 9:00 a.m. would be said like "oh-900" or "zero-900 hours"; and 9:00 p.m. would be "2100 or 21-hundred hours" ; midnight would be "2400 or 24-hundred hours", 1:00 a.m. would be "zero-100" and 1:00 p.m. would be "1300 or 13 hundred hours", etc. To tell hours and minutes, you just say it normally. For instance, 6:25 a.m in military time is "oh-six twenty-five" or "zero-six twenty-five", and in the evening it would be "1825 or eighteen twenty-five hours."
