5x^2 + x -3 =0

a=5
b=1
c=3

Plug these terms into the quadratic formula, then you have your answer for x!

Use the formula:
ax^2+ bx+c
x= (-b+-√b^2 - 4ac)/ 2a

x= (-1+-√1- 4(5)(-3))/ 2(5)

Either x=0.68 or x=0.88
