I see lots of really nasty vindictive things written by americans. If something bad happens to someone, and they did even the slightest thing wrong, then its all justified. I don't like that kind of thing.

They seem to take pleasure in watching other people suffer. I'm Australian and most people I meet in real life don't seem to be this way.

See that aboriginie thing is what I'm talking about. So vindictive, that stuff happened long before I was born. They did the same in America to the Indians, it happens all over the world.

I'm going to canada at the end of the year to check out the mountains. Don't know if i'll go to the States tho.

I would say arrogant is the appropriate word. Stupid, but arrogant nontheless.

I'm American, and honestly 99% of people I meet are friendly, nice people. And I see a LOT of American-bashing on here by people who've never been here. We give more foreign aid to people in trouble than any other country in the world. Nobody I have EVER MET, and I've been to University and lived in big cities, has seemed to "take pleasure in watching other people suffer". Why don't you read a little bit of Australian history in which aborigines were hunted like animals, and see if that doesn't fit the bill of watching people suffer? We're not perfect here. But you're not perfect there either, and most of us are decent, nice people.

The key there is "Most people I meet in real life". People in RL act nicer because if they don't they know theres a chance, no matter how slim, that they might just get punched in the face. Could you imagine if people said they kind of things they say on the internet to each other face to face? The streets would run red with blood.

As for Americans, i dont see any diffrence between what they type online and what people from other countries type. People suck. Little lines on a map don't change that.

On-line, everyone is a different animal. In person, we all have to be polite and civil. But, online we can be brutally honest, or vindictive.

Also, the reason I think you see more of these American posters is because, there are more of them. And, many of them, just for fun, will go around saying nasty things, because nobody knows who they are, and they can. In my time, I've seen plenty of Aussie Trolls. To be honest, I've seen trolls all over the world.

Americans do not know a lot about anything outside theri own country. They learn geography by starting wars in foreging countries and seeing the map on the evening news. Otherwise they do not know where the rest of the world is. I think most americans would be really surprised if they saw the high standards of technology, education and standard of living in many Arab countries.

Not all americans are like this. I'm sorry you are having such a bad experience with those you have encountered. I believe things happen for a reason and when we go through something difficult it's so we can learn from it. I hope you meet some good Americans.

You actually believe that half of the people on here who say that they're American actually are?

Silly Aussie! How long they have the internet down there in Oz? LOL!!!

Go to my country if you want or not. I've seen people passing themselves as Aussies on here say some pretty nasty stuff on here. But I still have a desire to visit Oz.

Whatever.

It is amazing to me that so many people in so many countries have this attitude, maybe the americans that are traveling in other countries are just rude people not just americans. I live in California in the Central Valley and i am waay over 20 and i love to meet people from other nations. we are mostly a friendly people. I think maybe people are rude because they are so tired from the traveling. But I know that there are really rude people all over the world not just americans. we aren't the best people in the world but not the worst! Maybe americans know about their reputations and are defensive about it and come off looking bad. I know that alot of americans believe we are the best because of the so called freedom here but it isn't really free. we have a lot of rules and regulations to live with. I hope this helps you out

Yeah, my teacher told our class the same thing about how other countries think we're the most violent country in the world, and I would totally agree. I don't even understand how we want to fight terrorism in other countries when we can't even defeat it in our own. Perhaps, that is the reason America is hated so much by so many countries.

There are more Americans here than any other nationality. Thus any given nasty (or nice) person is most likely to be American.

Quite frankly, the nastiest group I've seen, on average, is the semi-literate (and apparently drunk) minority of Brits who seem to have nothing else to do but insult the US. Granted, I'm more likely to notice them than the general run of posts...

It truly all depends on the person. Some people take things too far, like reporting false abuse claims. I don't know if this world we live in will ever get better but I sure do hope so.
