Practice getting up in front of a couple people you know...after your comfortable with that..maybe do something in public with some friends but also other people you don't know..just keep stretching the comfort zone little by little and you'll get there. I used to die during my public speaking class..threw up several times even, but by the end of the semester, I had it nailed. Practice Practice and your fear will slip away :-)

There's a very effective technique called "Systematic Desensitisation". You should probably see a professional ut you could try it yourself

You order the steps to do with being on stage from most frightening to least frightening. Eg least frightening is a picture of a stage. Most frightening is standing on it.

Then you begin with least frightening and picture the stage. You are then taught to relax (this is when you probably need a professional) and once you assosciate the stage with relaxation you can move to the next "most frightening" prospect till you can assosciate the stage with a pleasant feeling, not feel.

This theory uses "classical conditioning" principles and is most effective if you are actual in the setting (eg the stage) and if you have a professional.

Good luck! When I was younger I was the same, and now I've played a main in my school production :)

FEAR. That's one thing we all have. For you it's being on stage. Well try playing in small crowds, them bigger and bigger. Or Pretend that ur rehersing. Do it for those who can't. Or do this: Think of a person you hate, then pretened that you have to do this and she/he will get embaressed. We all have to face our fears. It's never easy. But we alway (mostly) win. An object is stronger at it's weakest point (Physics). So if you face this now you'll be stronger than ever, cause you'll face it sooner. Hope this helps. Good luck or break a leg! Have a nice day!

Keep on it.

Being on stage can be scary. The only way I found to get over it was to continually confront it through several performances. Don't ignore your fear, revel in your defeat of it. Its OK to be afraid, but you can destroy your fear through will alone. Soon you will realize that your heart still pumps in your ears, but you do not freeze.

Then, it'll just be a rush.

I congratulate you on dedicating yourself to overcoming your fears.

Face youe fear. Seriously, it's cliche but true. do it over, and over, and over again. Soon it will be second nature to you and you;ll be fine. Also, though, you must know your subject. You say "on stage" but is that speaking, singing, performing, etc? If you know what you're doing you have no reason to fear.

Mind over matter my friend.
