I haven't eaten any since the weather turned cold. But my
favorite is Berry Burst Cheerios. That's the one with dehy-
drated strawberries and other types of berries. So they add
some extra flavor in most every bite. I used to like Coco
Pebbles, but they aren't as chocolatey anymore. Years ago
the milk would turn so much darker brown than it does today.
And I don't think it has much chocolate flavor as when it was
introduced either. I worry now about all of the added chemicals and preservatives that aren't good for anyone. So
I stick with the cereals usually that do have some benefits.
Anything in the oats category, for keeping cholesterol down
and that helps to have a healthier heart. Oatmeal with raisens,
or sliced bananas and a bit of cinnamon cooked low and
stirred frequently, with a splash of milk and butter, and sugar,
is a good source of protein and stays with you. You can add
sliced peaches too, and that is really tasty. I experiment more
than I used to, as I've gotten tired of the same old menu over
the years.
Oh, I also will take shredded wheat (any size biscuits) like
my mother used to do. And I put a dollop of peanut butter
over them. Then I add about a cup or more of milk, add
a sweetner, and heat the bowl of cereal up for about one
minute and 10 seconds on my micro. And when it's all
really warm, I mix the peanut butter into the bisquits until
it's like a mush and a thin consistency. Maybe adding a
bit more milk to make it so. As it tends to thicken up. And that is a rib sticking breakfast on a winter morning that won't let you down. It will keep you energized up until lunch. Cold cereals don't help with protein to give us anything to sustain us. So I wouldn't recommend them for keeping you going til lunch. The sugar in the cereal gives only a temporary lift, and
then you come down and want food sooner. Try eating
cereal as an evening snack instead. Also, try scrambling an egg or two, and put it into a micro safe bowl, with a
little cheese, and a splash of milk. Nuke it for about a
minute or so, and then fluff up the eggs, with the fork, making sure they are fully cooked and then make a slice of buttered toast with a sprinkle of cinnamon which is good for us daily. And with a small glass of orange juice or some other, you'll
have a good high protein breakfast with enough carbs for
instant energy to also carry you through til lunch.Or there's
also the egg on a muffin. Like McD's. Fry an egg and top
it with a slice of cheese, and put it on a buttered and
toasted english muffin you've slice into halves. And eat
it like a sandwich. You can also nuke some thin bacon
and add that to the sandwich also. It takes little time to
make a meal that will serve you better than cold cereal.
It's hard enough to get motivated in the morning when you have to leave early. So try to give your first meal of the day a boost for you. You'll see the difference.

I buy a basic granola, and then add some raisins, currants, dried chopped pineapple, sunflower seeds or almond slices, and that's my current favourite. I don't care for the sweetened, boxed cereals, but if I buy a box of cereal it is usually cream of wheat or old-fashioned oatmeal (the type that is cooked for 5 - 10 minutes.)
