make a list of exactly what you want to get done... like

1. pick up all clothes off the floor
2. dust bookshelf
3. arrange books on shelf
4. fold clothes
5. put clothes away

etc

Make sure that you let mom look at the list and that it fits her idea of "clean" (being a mom of a nearly teenage boy I know that sometimes what he thinks is clean and what I think is clean are two different beasts all together.)

Break down your list into as small of steps as you can. The smaller steps you make things the more you will be able to cross off which will make you see that you are making progress sooner.

Spend 15 minutes tackling 2 or 3 steps on your list. Work one step don't do anything else until that step is done. then spend 15 minutes relaxing. Keep working alternating 15 minutes working and 15 minutes relaxing until you have crossed off all the steps on your list.

You can play some cool music while you work it will help the time go.

As you decide what to do with things, have one bag for things that are TRASH, one for KEEP and one for GIVE AWAY. It's pretty much obvious what you will do for each bag... the give away bag will be for things that are too small for sis, things she doesn't play with, things she doesn't want. Make sure that mom and/or sis get a chance to sort through the give away pile before you do anything with it.

good luck!

Well I don't have all that great of an attention span either. So if I'm cleaning my room or a room can shut off from the rest of the house I normally just close the door turn on some music and stay in there until I get it done. It normally gets done pretty quick. So maybe if you like to listen to music while your busy this would help you too. I would try it...

It's always hard to figure out where to start! Once you get started, it won't be so bad at all. Turn on the radio, need some music to work to. Start small. Find an area of the room that you think will be easiest/quickest, and start there. Do a section at a time.

Wish someone would pay me $100 to clean a room! =)

2. Remove bedding, dirty clothes, toys and curtains and place in wash.
3. Sprinkle carpet deodorser and vacuum profusely.
4. Get a bucket with warm soapy water and cloth.
Clean window sill, bed, dresser and anything that looks dirty.
5. Clean windows.
6. Fumigate. ask your mum but there could be silverfish or cockroaches breeding in cupboards.
7. Spray room with aerosol freshner or similar to give room a fresh smell.
8. Add fresh bedding and curtains.
9. If possible, open window and let room breathe.
