I think you are confusing imagination with delusions of grandeur. L. Frank Baum was imaginative. Charles Manson was insane.

There is nothing wrong with having an imagination. But be careful what you pretend. Under the proper conditions one can become psychotic enough to start living out there imaginary rolls. It would be cool to run with a pack of wolfs, or change into a vampire. But I feel it would be the best feeling to imagine that I was Jesus and doing all the good he did. Who knows you might develop a wee bit of his powers and actually help humanity.

When I was a child I lived in the middle of 50 acres and would go out at night into the fields. I would try to imagine all kind of spooky things that would scare me. One can only draw upon their true experience and use that to manifest scary creatures. Back then TV did not yet happen. I would think of a pack of wild dogs would attack and rip me to shreds. Unfortunately I have never seen a wild dog on our property let alone a pack of them. So as hard as I tried I could not get my imagination to kick into over drive and scare the hell out of me.

However, one night while setting in the field the hair started to stand on the back of my neck and arms. It was so black outside that I had to leave the outside light on to find my way home. I could not see my hand in front of my face. Yet I felt something behind me and when I turned to look I was able to make out a huge outline that I could not describe. It was darker then the pitch black night. And I could see it but not hear a sound. It was like a dark shadow of the blackest shade. In a flash I was running for my life. I was so scared that I wet my pants and for months I kept the shades drawn and windows closed even though it was 80 degrees in the bedroom. We didn’t have air conditioning. It was quite a while before I ventured into the field again. So be careful there are things that do go bump in the night.
