* Maybe they like the question but has less chances on being chosen as best answer.
* They like the question but someone had already got his/her answer first.
* Maybe they like you or perhaps your secret stalker.
* Maybe they've reach their answer limit and have nothing else better to do but give stars.
* Or maybe they are just born naturally generous.

It's very simple answer.
When people see your question Interesting and they do not have reasonable answer. If they star the question you have asked later on they can see the answers for that. It's quite true I am doing the same. I do star the questions because I am about to ask same question.

some star because its a good question. and maybe alot of people already answered it and have the best answer so far.
so no need to answer it, but star is just as good.
and some have limited answers. and only a star will do.

I do it if I don't know the answer but it one that I would be curious to know about too. Then I don't have to go back through and dig it up...i can just look under my starred section. Makes sense to me...you can find something interesting even if you don't know anything about it.

Because they find the question interesting and they say "hey, I never thought of that" and they think it was such wise of them to ask such a question. So they star it to see what the answers will be like

It's just to say that its a cool question or odd or interesting...but they don't particularly care to bother answering it. It's sort of a short-hand answer, I guess! Although...how do you know they starred it and didn't answer, too?

because they think it is interresting and they want to know because they don't know. I star questions to questions I would or was going to ask and then when it is solved I see the best answer and learn why that happened ect.

I always thought it was because they reached their answering limit...because I have noticed that with my questions too. But I guess I don't know if you can still star when you have reached your limit.

I am more interested in the other answerer's than my own response. Besides, sometimes I feel my inner Troll coming out and I don't need another violation for going into ***** mode.
