i'm trying to make some cds for christmas for my parents but i don't want songs that are dripping with sap. it would be best if the songs parent child theme is not too obvious.

here are some i am already using, and i would like the others to blend well:

loudon wainwright - daughter
paul simon - father and daughter
billy joel - lullaby
rusted root - send me on my way
john mayer - daughters
beatles - in my life
rod stewart - forever young
nickel creek - when you come back down
tom petty - wildflowers
natalie merchant - kind and generous
simon and garfunkel - bridge over troubled water
fleetwood mac - landslide

i know it's already a lot but i still feel like i need more. my parents are about 55-60 and they have eclectic yet sophisticated taste. they're big fans of npr if that helps at all since i don't know their specific tastes.
