I love the name Claire. And I am expecting a baby in August. Of course, I don't know the sex. I have a boy name picked out. (Levi Andrew). I want to use Claire if its a girl.

What about Miranda Claire?

The short for Miranda is Randie (my dads name)

Or Claire Deanne. My husbands sister and my sister both have the name Deanne.

My mom had a dream that I had a baby girl named Amelia! I can't believe 2 of you said that name! I've also thought of just Miranda Deanne. Buuut, I dont think my husband will go for it. My sisters name is Amanda Deanne. And Miranda and Amanda sound alike. He is already jealous that I love my sister so much...hehehhe!

Because Claire is a one-syllable name, it is most often used as a middle name because it's strong, simple, and thus can anchor two multi-syllabled names at either end of it. I.E. 'Melany Claire Wilson' sounds sooooo much better than Claire Melany Wilson.
Myself, I like Marnie Claire, Cassandra Claire, Ava Claire,
Aubrey Claire, or Tanya Claire?
All that said? If you really love Claire as a first name, go with that, but couple it with another single-syllable name like,
Claire Ann, Claire Lynn, or Claire Dawn? Hope that helps a bit - and good luck :)

Good luck.

I love your way of wanting to pay tribute to your family with the name. That is very special and sweet. I tend to think that since your dad is probably the eldest, name her Miranda Claire after him, which would tickle him to no end, I bet. But also, it would create a nice bond with her female relatives to name her Claire Deanne. So how about Miranda Claire-Deanne - all three, but with Claire-Deanne as one name. Want to break loose? How about Clarity Anne? If you use that one, may I be an honorary auntie? : )

I think Amelia Claire sounds really cool. It flows really nicely. Miranda Claire sounds nice too though. My name is Claire Kathleen. I love my name! It's a great name to have..not too popular, and I get compliments on it all the time. People always tell me how pretty and classic it is. Your daughter will love it and feel original too!
