I usually go for an angel or a star or both. But this year I sent the two youngest grandchildren to get some bits for the tree with their uncle and said 'what about a nice big fluffy angel or star, a pink one or something' you chose. Back they came with a huge fluffy sort of purple star which I had a great deal of trouble anchoring in place, and which trying to switch tree lights on after a 'jar' with mates this evening my son has knocked over to a very odd angle! Ah well I should have looked for my old angel!

I have always preferred having a star on top of my Christmas tree.

A bronze star. I tend to swap that one out with an overly decorative clip on butterfly which makes me exquisitely happy. I'm not much for angels, being an atheist. But just because I'm an atheist doesn't mean I'm not into having fun and remembering the traditions of my family. It may be that my kids won't want a tree, nor feel that a present exchange is necessary, but I do.
