Short in the wiring.

no, they are the same problem. the blinkers use the brake circuit, also look that the light bulbs are installed correctly. In the wiring you have a short, could be the harness to the lights, the light sockets, the blinker assy in the wheel, the wires at the flasher unit, or the flasher switch in the wheel head. need to trace the wires, and look for a wire pinched, or bare touching the metal of the truck, or in the steering wheel area. most times it is in the tow package wiring where someone put a fold over to hook up a u-haul trlr, and it is bare and rubbing against the truck, check there first.

did you replace the signal flasher or 4 way flasher
it might be in the switch for the signal lights, as for the brake lights you probably have a wire that the insulation is wore off and shorting on the vehicle body I would check at the back first where rocks from the road beat up the wiring harness

Have you cleaned all the corrosion off the sockets to make sure it not shorting out there?
