I see no difference between women supporting Hillary and the religious right supporting Huckabee. Or black people supporting Obama.
I've heard it's because Huckabee shares the same morals and values - and knows what you need. But, if you're going to generalize that he has what is good for ALL Christians then the same thing can be said about Hillary. A generalization would be she understands what women face and will do her best for all women.

I am asking this question in response to seeing a person who said they are voting fo rHuckabee because of his religious background - but then wrote in another answer that women are stupid to vote for Hillary just because she's a woman.

Hell yea, people should not support people because they represent their interests.
Imagine what politics would be like if that were the case! Bigoted small business owning Republicans only supporting people that are pro-tax cuts. Working class Democrats supporting increased welfare. Bastards ;)
Your latter point holds water. It is at least fairly legitimate to support someone because they share your values. People want someone who shares similar outlook on life, who will make decisions they agree with. Go figure. Still, as mentioned, gender and race do not correlate to these values like religion does, so its not quite comparable.

I am not voting against Hillary because she is a woman. I am voting against her because:
1) She is Pro Abortion, and wants the unborn killed.
2) Her uniworsal health care plan is a disaster that is supposed to help the poor, but has "financial Incentives" for the health care industry.
3) She is a junior senator, with no military and disastrous leadership experience. She cant even keep her own employees at bay, firing 3 or 4 within the last few months.

It is wrong to vote for Hillary because she is not trustworthy, not because she is a woman. I would not vote for any candidate because they are religious. They would have to support principles that I believe in not just Christian values.

Maybe its because being religious is supposed to show insight into who he really is as a person. Being a woman or being black does not really show that kind of insight.
