It does matter. But I find it to be a good thing.

Imagine riots/sermons in the Middle East. "Down with Huckabee! Die Huckabee!" just tends to sound sort of ridiculous. ;)

It is about principles and stances, but never underestimate the effect of marketing a name. In this case, it doesn't matter, but it can. Like you said about Clinton.

Name recognition is the only reason we were saddled with 43. Too bad half the country wastes their vote in that way. I'm not sure people are too worried about Huckabee though. But I think President Obama has a nice ring to it.

Huckleberry Hound

For those youngsters who do not know, Huckleberry Hound was a Hanna/Barbara Cartoon aired Saturday mornings about a Huckleberry color dog who talked in a southern drawl.

I don't know about his name being unelectable. I heard people say it before. It sounds a little hee-hawish. People just have a hard time imagining 'President Huckabee.'

He won't get elected on his own merit. Then again, we had a President named Garfield. haha

I think Mike Huchabee has the best chance to win the general election among the republican primary if he picks a good running mate.

That kind of talk comes from people who stereotype people from the south as hayseeds.

It needs to stop.
