Emotionless, no, not at all.
Cliche? Yes, that bothers me horribly.
For isntance, I like Green Day, theyre not bad at all... but Boulevard of Broken Dreams? It sounded like Billie Joe Armstrong bought a book on cliches, and formed them into a melody over a rock song.

I agree as far as not liking cliche lyrics but at the same time you have to remember that her songs are geared towards children. They are not going to go into depth with those lyrics because kids won't understand them.

I h8 that! I really hate that 70's music and crap, cuz it doesnt hav any meaning! I was trying to find figurative language in a stupid song from the 70's and all it said was "ill change the motion of my ocean cuz ur so smooth. ur so smooth. ya ur so smooth." it was retarded. I got a 0 on that project cuz i dont do things that make me barf.

yup. and the ones that don't make sense. like, all the songs out there are pretty much all about someone you love leaving you, or breaking up with you... blah blah blah! and rap songs. all about making money and picking up hookers...
