I think it's because they tend to believe everyone was born healthy, wealthy and had the same opportunities for education. Most don't have sympathy for those who actually need help. I'm not talking about the takers and free loaders either. Not everyone is created equally whether they want to believe it or not.

We have a habit of expecting people to take responsibility. In this liberal age it is considered mean to expect someone to accept that they might not really be as good as the next guy.

I see it all the time on the job, kids come out and think they should get top pay while they can't do the job. You try to teach them and they get defensive and accuse you of being and a**hole. If you leave them alone and let them fail then they blame you for not telling them. It is an age where personal accountability is an unappreciated quality.

I am a brick layer and it may look easy but it is in fact an art and a very old one. It takes work and desire and the strength of character to accept when you are told to tear your work out and do it again that is for your benefit as much as anything .

Conservatives (not necessarily republicans) are realists. Trying to solve real problems sometimes means that you are required to make tough decisions.

Making decisions is not something that liberals do. Can anyone think of a decision the liberals have made in the past 8 years. All we have heard is whine after whine from these losers. They have the power to defund the war, yet they do not. Why not? Because they do not want to make a decision.

"You can't please everyone all the time".

People who are matter-of-fact and set idealism aside for the sake of progress are considered to be cruel by those that think just being nice is better than progress.
The nice people would have us all living in log cabins again and sitting around the camp fire singing Kumbaya.

Because when we oppose things such as higher taxes it is taken out of context and put into the context of we don't care about poor people or were to arrogant to give up our money. It is how we are perceived and portrayed by the media and they villianize us.

If you write for the NY Times or CNN you might think Reps are mean....But then, who cares what they think anyway. Circulation at the Times is down as are ratings for CNN.

When you don't agree with a lib, he inherently resorts to name-calling!
So conservatives are the nasty, mean-sprited bunch, that do so much hating theres none left for the libs to us on Bush or the troops or America
