I doubt a cure is the solution because the diseases[s] keep mutating to something just slightly different and therefore become less responsive to treatment and therefore cure.
I think the solution is preventative measures through vaccination.
Get it before it starts and has a chance to mutate.
I do think drug programs will develop that allow people to live full and hopefully quality lives w/t virus.

I believe like any other disease--there is a cure. Problem is--there is just too much money to be made on treating diseases versus curing them. For example if people keep going to the doctor, buying prescribed drugs, and being dependent on insurance companies, the cycle is going to go on and on. Even the so called agency approving drugs deeming them safe then a few years down the road they have major side effects. Medicine is a money making business--they are in it to make money and not really to find a cure. If cancer, AIDS, etc. are cured--the medical business will be non existent, although they keep discovering new diseases everyday to make new medicines to treat not cure them.

Apparently finding a solution for ice melting in Antarctica and preventing something that might eventually cause harm to humans in the future is more important that curing AIDS. When's the last time a politician made a movie about AIDS?

A cure is unlikely, given our history with curing other viuese. We haven't a single cure for any birus einfection. A vaccine is much more likely, but I think it will take a new way of thinking of vaccines before one agaonst HIV is successful. This is one tricky virus, since it mutates constantly.

Like cancer, there probably already is a cure, but there's no money in the cure. Look at all the treatment centers across the country that would fold. Government and American Medical Association aren't gonna let that happen.

Possible yes. But probably not in the near future. There is less money in curing it, than just treating it.
