Okay, so basically..
On the 29th of November, I had unprotected sex.
I know I know, what a stupid, foolish thing to do....
I don't keep track of my period, ( which, from now I will be doing.)
And I'm uncertain as to when to take a home pregnancy test.
IF infact I am pregnant, I would be two weeks, and one day.
I'm feeling a few of the early signs, such as; abdomen pain, frequent urination, tender breasts, and I'm feeling unnaturally tired.
I usualllllly get my period around the same dates at my close friend, and my older sister, both of which have gotten theirs, on the 8th, and 9th of December, which would only make me three-four days late, basing it on that.
I took a home test today, and it showed a negative result,
have I taken a test too early, and if so, when should I take the next one, for it to be accurate?
Please help me out here, thanks ahead of time, for the answers.

I have one website for you:
http://www.plannedparenthood.org/

Find a location by your house and go there for a pregnancy test.

They make the "Pee on a stick" home tests rather sensitive now but you can't beat the 100% correct answer of a doctor's test!

If you are lucky you might be able to get the test for free...

But no matter what they can give you counsleing on both birth control options (at a cheap price) and support should you be pregnant.

I'm not saying that you should or should not use their "Other" serivces and terminate the pregnancy... That is almost ALWAYS the conculsion that people draw when I say "Go to planned parenthood!".

I am just saying that these people are the profeshionals!

You take your car to a michanic, you call a plumber for your pipes... Let the pro's give you the test and counsle you on your options... Both current and future!

They offer birth control at cost for low income women and have the connections to get it for you for free from the manufacturer if you qualify...

Just go take a profeshional doctor test and see what the facts are!!

Good luck!!

You usually have to be two weeks late to get a reliable result from home pregnancy tests. Some of them advertise accurate results sooner, but just to be safe, wait two weeks. Those tests measure hormone levels in your urine, and if you are pregnant, it takes time for the levels to build up enough to show on the test. You might be experiencing pregnancy signs because you are nervous about being pregnant, so don't make too much of how you're feeling. You can get a blood test at the doctor's office at any time and find out that way if you want.

You could be pregnant. But there is no reason yet to think that you are.

All of the symptoms that you say you are experiencing can also be caused by any number of other things totally unrelated to pregnancy.
They can also be caused by stress related to you thinking you may be pregnant. Just the obvious worry that it is causing you is enough to trigger ALL of the symptoms you discribe including a late or even missed period.

On the other hand being pregnant will have much the same result, although it is unusual for a woman to actually notice any real signs so early in the piece.

As to testing, the kit should have instructions on it to be followed and an indication of its limitations as to timing. It varies from test to test. So ask your chemist/pharmacist for details.

If I were in your situation I would be less worried about being pregnant and more worried about having contracted HIV. sadly you will have to wait 3 months for that test, and you are now a bit late to take the preventative treatment. Talk to a sexual health clinic worker.

Sometimes stress alters our cycles, and stressing about not having your period is one such one, the symptoms you explained can also be associated with the onset of a period depending on the person.
If your period still hasn't come within the next 7 days you should take another test. If that is a negative and the symptoms are still there you really should see your doctor as it could be number of things not just pregnancy.

They now offer pregnancy tests can read up to 5 days before you missed period. Get one of those, take the test with your early in the morning pee. Those tests are really good and pretty accurate. Stress can delay your period so chill out. If your really are concerned you should call your doctor and have a test performed in the office. Good luck!

Wait a week. And then test again. If negative be more careful! But by the sounds your symptoms there is a good chance it was too early to test and you are pregnant.

wait about two and a half weeks, if you still havent gotten your period take another home pregnancy test, if its positive go to a clinic and get a REAL test... home tests arent completely accurate.
p.s. calm down! stressing out and believing your pregnant can actually make you miss your period for months at a time(i know!!)

It's not too early. I've had this happen to me before. You're probably not, if the test says so. It's been a couple of months since I haven't had my cycle so I went to see the doctor. I just need birth control pills to regulate it. But I'm certainly not pregnant. Surprisingly, I've had all of your symptoms. Don't stress yourself, it's not worth it.

Hi there,

I would wait until the end of December.... if you have not gotten your period by then I would take a pregnancy test.

I hope you get the results you are hoping for.
