I was always short and was called---Midget, Shrimp, Short-stuff, and Tiney.
Being that I am still short (4'9") I hear those same terms used as an adult. I did actually get people to stop when I wore 3+" heels.
I don't mind the nicknames because it really is something I have no contol over.

I've been called GIDGET my entire life. And even though I'm 30 now, I still get called Gidget by everyone on my mother's side of the family. A bit embarrassing, because inevitably I have to tell anyone who happens to be with me WHY I'm called Gidget.

My nickname as a small child was "Peanut", given to me by my Mom. No one has called me that in many, many years.

yeah, actually, i changed my name very slightly because i thought it sounded like a boy's name when i was a little kid(i insisted that people called me by my nickname), so everyone called me that and eventually i legally changed it to that, so my nickname became my real name.

Neni is my nick-name. It evolved from "nenita" which means little girl, in Spanish. I share my real name with both my grandmother and aunt. My aunt was called "nena" ("girl") so I was called "Nenita". And yes, almost everyone outside of work still uses it.
