Technically there is no such thing as the sky, as there isn't really a beginning or end to it. It is endless and goes out forever and ever into space. If you mean atmosphere, the atmosphere around Earth is spherical. It surrounds the entire Earth, which is a globe, so it is the same shape.

The Earth is a sphere, so all of the sky and space above the Earth would also be spherically shaped (from our perspective).

In cosmological terms, space is one of these 3 shapes, depending on the mass in the universe:
- Open - the universe is negatively curved (described as a saddle shape) and there is not enough mass to keep the universe from expanding forever.
- Closed - means the universe is positively curved (like a sphere) and there is enough mass to cause the universe to stop expanding at some point and start to collapse.
- Flat - the universe is not curved either way (just enough mass to slow the expansion to almost zero)
There is a lot of debate as to whether there is enough mass to stop expansion or not (the current theory is no).
So on the cosmic scale, space is saddle-shaped.

But on the scale of humans and the Earth, the sky is the shape of a sphere.

The Universe extends in all directions as for trillions of miles, and distant objects are all moving away from each other.

The sky for each person is a hemi-sphere at which you are the center, that stretches to the edge of the expanding Universe.

With all the pollution we put in to it, the sky is in pretty bad shape.

Sky actually does not exist. What you see in day time is just scattering of light by air moleculecules.

Quite a few scientists believe the universe to be either like beads on a leacklace, having small portals to other universes or like a donut.

If you mean the atmosphere;-} it's a thin shell abover earth.
If you mean galaxy;-} it's a spiral of stars around a black hole.
If you mean the universe;-} it's infinite, but we only see a part.

"Sky" is a pretty general and somewhat vague description. Care to be more specific..?

Round, just like the globe it encircles.
