I have a Mark VIII and every so often the whole car shakes and makes a sound like you are going over the bumps on the side of the highway. It seems like its mostly when I'm accelerating, but it only happens sometimes...what could be the problem?

Hard to say for fact. Above are good answers. If, this a Rear wheel drive it "may" be a bent Drive Shaft or Universal Joints on the Drive Shaft. But, it hard to give the exact problem without looking. But, the above are good places to start.

it could either be a bad mount or a u-joint starting to go bad in it,a u-joint wont do this all the time when they first start to go bad, they will later on though as they get a lot more wear on them, you might want to check that out,if it comes out it will cause a lot of damage to it,good luck.

sounds like a drive shaft problem to me...do you ever here it clink or tink when you go from neutral to drive or drive to reverse????? if you do it's a universal joint.
