He is a powerfull guy and an animal...

I really realised someday that he could hurt people accidentally and he is a little bit overrated but i can't deny it...i was always and i still am a Goldberg mark...

He is intense..he could have some powerfull and enjoy to watch moves no matter if the opponent can get injured...He is a good entertainer and his all around style is awesome.

For example at RAW 15th Anniversary, when the security guard hit the door for the final entrant of the battle royal my hopes went high to see him but i fell from the sky when i saw that is Gillberg..Damn you..!!

If i was in the arena at that time i would have whooped Gillberg's @ss!!

Well,i don't know if Goldberg was WCW cause they had some great superstars as well but he was very good and nice to watch..He made his name there...

Also,i believe that people disrespect him because he technically he gets enough mentions as a legend and they think that's not fair cause he is the guy that technically ended Bret Hart's career..

I always respected him and i still respect him...
and something more....

Believe The Hype!!!

*starred* for a Goldberg mark!!LOL

He gets no respect because he went to WWE and became "just another guy." The writers had no clue how to harness his character. In WCW, Goldberg was the quintessential "monster" character with a coolness factor that went through the roof. He had a "regular guy" look combined with a killer name and an untouchable record. They made him the guy who could not be beat. In WWE, he was set up the same way, but then the writers ran out of things to do, so he was beat in screw-job after screw-job, run-in after run-in and people just thought of him in the mix of other wrestlers. He wasn't any different than any of the others. And that's unfortunate. WWE had the $$ for Goldberg, but without the compelling storyline, he was doomed. And that's too bad. Goldberg in WCW was an awesome character. He deserved better.

It's maybe bcz he only had a short if successful career from 1997-2004.He had an excellent run in his time, but maybe critics choose to focus on his short stays in the feds.
WCW 1997-2001 & then with WWE 2003-04.For sure he had only 6 defeats in WCW but by choosing to sit out his contract & not join the WCW Invasion~ that hasn't sat well with fans.
Maybe neither the way he finished his WWE career has helped. His match v Lesnar was both star's last , but Goldberg refused point-blank to job to him.The fans booed the arena down as i recall.
Goldberg was a solid wrestler back in his prime. He just wasn;t in the fans mindset long enough to get himself "over".

Sadily he doesn't get respect but one of the major reasons- which agree or disagree- is he never stays long enough to build a reputation. Another factor, he wants to be the main stage, which in most cases he does deserve but a lot of promoters don't like primadanas, not saying he was one but he was often thought of as one.

He also requested big bucks just appearing, which again may have been warrented or not, when he was at WCW, where he was usually equalled sold out arenas...So again, like him or hate him, he had fans.

Another thing, his win streak is outstanding and that alone deserves respect.

Goldberg does deserve a lot of respect. But so does the WCW writing/creative team. As someone already stated, they made him a monster. "The Streak" was phenomonal, and his 1st loss was a rip off.

At the same time. Goldberg would have to go in my top 5 most dangerous wrestlers. He was big, so he used his power, injuring others. I know it wasn't intentional, but still...the guy in the other corner is putting his life in your hands.

I agree and it is highly sad.

Goldberg was my favorite wrestler and i always looked up to him and as hero, Goldberg was so amazing.

He was 1 of the main reasons why i tuned in to WCW (i also saw him as a killing monster wreckin machine), the entrance, pryo, music, spear, Jackhammer, everything and yes ..... Goldberg deserved better expecially when Vince Russo took over and that feud they had in 2000.

WWE took him as big joke, his character was so poor he even stated in his interview.
What was the streak there, 1 - 0???????

Pathetic if you ask me.

Personally, i think Goldberg has a better career now acting in movies and fighting in the MMA.

Thats because he's most remembered for ending the career of the greatest technical wrestler of all time. Because of his mistake in the ring he ended Bret Hart's career. I myself was a huge fan of the Hitmans and I am still a little p*ssed that his legendary career was cut short because of Bill Goldberg.

I saw this question because Koumi (my contact starred it).

Dude i believe the hype. People first make these people superstars & then they start criticizing him just for maintaining their image in a forum.
I always liked Goldberg, i was always his fan and i am still his fan. He had the 'X-factor' and he was damn good.
I don't care about moves. He was powerful and he was a dominating wrestler.

It's what WWE did to him, they made him human... WCW made him a monster... worlds differnce...

Credit the writing team in WCW, they knew what they were doing!
