JOHN STOCKTON. There is no question. your talking about a guy who will hold the alltime assists record in nba history forever, no one will ever break it. He has over 5,000 more assists then the second place guy. Isnt that what a point guards main job is? This guy also played huge defense and id the nba all-time steale leader. He could also win you a game in the finals seconds with an amazing shot. He is a man that profected the art of bounce passing. Nash is good, but stockton is probably the best point guard of all time.

John Stockton......take nothing away from Nash cause Nash is good.....

Stockton had 1000 assists for 5 seasons in a row (7 total with over 1000 assists)...and did it mostly playing a slow down half court style of basketball...and Stockton is also the all time steals leader as well

Nash has never recorded over 1000 assists...never led the league in steals and plays in a fast break system which makes it easy to rack up those assist totals

depend what u want in your point
do you want to play a fastbreak game(nash) or a pick and rooooooooooooll type of game(stockton).
if you are looking for a real point you would go with stockton who will run the half court to prefection. but if you go with stockton you have to have guy that willset pick for him ala karl malone
if you wat to play a full part game with a point that can shoot and pass you have to go with nash a downside is that your team will be smaller which a pick and roll team like what stockton and malone a bigger stronger team would make the pace of the game slower which is not a stength of steve nash
this also goes with fast pace and stockton (dont match)
size:
they are both the same size
Turnover:
nash right now is sightly turn over prone while stockton(4.5 a game) is not going to tun over more than 2-3 times a game
Playoffs: both have not won finals
SHOOTING
NASH HAS SLIGHT EDGE
MY CHIOCE:
I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE BOTH on my team backing up each other BUT STOCKTON RUNNING MY TEAM IS GREAT because he can score anywhere from 10 to 25 a game but he is a true point guard that will complement the other 4 guys on the court

Stockton. He could get the ball to anyone. Nash is a great player, but he turns it over way too much. He is a better scorer though. I would take Stockton if I had to start a team.

Although Nash is the greatest PG today, the all-time greatest is Stockton. Im sure even Nash fans will agree(I'm a Nash fan). Nash has also tremendous respect for that guy. Stock is epitome of a true PG.

Stockton, easily.

Stockton put up similar offensive numbers, and did it in the half-court.

Defensively, Nash is one of the absolutely worst in the league, and Stockton was consistently first team All-NBA.

Not close.

Magic and Isiah were better than both of them.
