So I went abroad this past semester and passed 3 out of my 4 classes! Although my home university only takes pass/fail and the grades are not calculated into my gpa, it is still on my transcript. The worst part of it, is that I studied really hard for the subject, but failed to due well due to different school systems (I found it really hard to adapt to an international system and realized how much I took the US school system for granted). At my home university, my report card is full of A's and B's. I have my future career planned out, I was planning to go to graduate school. I mean, I'm definitely not falling behind credit wise (I have more than enough), I'm just worried about not getting into graduate school.

The subject I failed is a part of my major but it's an elective for my major not a required course. But still..

I have so many leadership experiences as well! I do a lot volunteer services and I won several awards for my leadership positions in school. So hopefully this will help?

I'm also working on getting a really good intern for the summer.

Hopefully, this will help.

I'm devastated by the grade. It's so unlikely of me.

I have decent/good grades at my home university.

I'm an overachiever, I admit it.

Good grades are only a part of getting a good job. Though your grades may not have been good, I am sure that you learned valuable lessons that will benefit you and your future.

So take it again at your home university. Most schools I've ever dealt with allow repeats if you don't do well the first time. Just talk to your adviser or the Registrar's Office to get the correct info about how YOUR school handles this situation.

edit - you won't know if your school will replace the grade on your transcript UNTIL YOU GO ASK THEM. GO, already, and find out the correct information instead of sitting there obsessing about it.

Or go Monday morning, since it's already Saturday...

Don't blame yourself for your parents divorce. No matter what your mother said, they chose to get divorced, not you. Know that your mother loves you, and she always will, no matter what. These problems you have right now will all be resolved in the end, but only if you work for it. Make sure that you find someone you can talk to the entire time. A few strangers online can only help you so much. Good luck.

Retake the course at you home school. That would help a lot.

My school will replace it, it varies by school, but most do.
