Sadly enough it is the harsh reality of what our society has become. Look to our presidential race and maybe the candidates should be seeing this. I know that our country wants to be the leader of freedom, but in turn we have become the leaders of turning a "blind eye"!
You may be right that the cost of fixing this could be way less than a war we were not invited to begin. It will take few to solve a problem, but many to keep hope alive.

The guy made his own decision to rob the store. The other guy didn't have a job or home due to decisions he had made as he was young and apparently able to work. Sorry, no sympathy here. As for Iraq, yes, I agree we could be spending our money more productively...i.e. developing alternate fuel sources so we can leave the middle east alone.

We have everything and everybody , from everywhere , so some of it is going to be ugly . Spending more in some areas would help , but whether it helps any given individual , is a tossup. Greater will to fix problems , and us , as voters not penalizing those willing to stick their neck out and say what has to be said, would help even more .
(You do realize that this video is fiction , don't you?)

America IS the land of opportunity. Taking advantage of that opportunity requires the actions of the individual, not 'very little money' fixes by government handout.
