I want to know should I just get the spark plugs changed or could it be timing, egr valve, oxygen sensor. Anyone with experience or knowledge let me know. The oil is fine and the coolant is clean ( not a blown head gasket ).

Make for sured that the head gaskets are intact. Do not drive it until you get it checked out and my opinion is that the fuel system somewhere whether it be egr, O2 sensor, or injectors need attention not to mention the spark plugs probably have tons of carbon buildup. Get it in the shop, major tune up and good luck.

First free advice is worth just about what you pay fore it and its a little like telling you what a gold ring is worth on the phone. From what you have said sounds like you problem is most likely a leaking injectors. If I am correct you should be advised this can be a very dangerious problem. Its a fire hazard.

it's probably the timing
The grey smoke...means to much gas in air to fuel mixture
And black..means to much air

Plugs won't do it.
It's an engine problem, injectors or worse.
