What are you going to do? Have your friend tell him - "I know somebody who likes you" - like my 13 year old does?
Not a good plan.
Flirt a little - make it known that you're available - and pay attention to his reaction. If it's favorable - go a little further - if not - back off.
The whole secret admirer thing is goofy. My boss (about 50 at the time) received a plant from a secret admirer once. He was in a relationship - but not sure if his lady friend sent the plant - so just to be certain - he sent a dozen red roses to her- saying "from your secret admirer." She never mentioned the roses to him - and he never mentioned the plant to her. Hysterical!! To this day I wonder who sent him that plant. What a bunch of wasted time, energy and flowers!!!

Being a secret admirer will not get you what you want, which is an opportunity to get to know this person better. You have nothing to lose by speaking up in a friendly and respectful way. If you don't hit it off romantically, you may make a new friend. That is always a good thing. Go slow, but GO!

Come right out and tell him how you feel, but don't make a big production of it. You're right, at your age you don't need to play those high school games. Just don't get too invested, if he returns your feelings then great. If not than no biggy. Just make sure and make it casual, maybe say "hey wanna go out for a drink" or ask him to hang out somewhere and see what happens. Don't pressure him into a corner or it might get weird.

first off.. is he gay or straight. if both of you are gay.. and you know it.. than just ask him out..it don't have to be much.. dinner.. movies.. or how about a lunch .. lunch is less of a threat then dinner is.. and you can each talk to each other and get a feeling about what is going on between the two of you and go from there

At 26 you're too old to be asking a question like this.

Umm, yes. Why not just be up front with him and tell him that you like him? He may like the fact that your agressive and approach him versus waiting for him to seek you out.

It depends on what you think the guy's reaction would be after he finds out who his SA is. If you think he's the type to find it childish, then don't do it. If he would find it romantic and funny, then go for it. :)
