I love the game of baseball...and no, they aren't the only athletes involved by a long shot, I love watching naturally gifted athletes.

I disagree with GW, sports only got this way due to greed, in the very old days this was not an issue and you could watch good ball and be entertained. This has definitely ruined it for me, why the hell would I pay to see some drugged up guy carrying a ball. There are a lot of guys in the minors who would have made it had they taken drugs, but they didn't because they had morals and yes, athletes use to be role models. I will NEVER (and I do mean never) take my grandchildren to see a so-called professional sports team. The only thing they're professional at is taking drugs and greed.

And yes, that IS my opinion! *w*

Wick...you ask such good questions! Thanks! Of course now I'm ALLLLL cranked up...lol

EDIT: Remember saying to your mom, but EVERYONE is doing it...and her saying..."if your friends jumped off a bridge, would you?" same thing...no thinking involved.

a million. Stats do no longer tell all of it however the inform you something. and that i'm no longer refering to PPG or APG stuff. There are some issues like ft% that don't lie. while you're an outstanding unfastened throw shooter, then your ft% would be extreme. additionally i'd somewhat take factors in step with Minute somewhat than PPG. LeBron is extra efiicient than Kobe. yet that would desire to no longer be the clarification at the back of human beings to call him extra helpful. i won't be able to write right here my clarification why I say LeBron is the final. 2. rings are much less significant than stats IMO because of the fact (purely such as you pronounced great O and MJ) that ought to point Rajon Rondo is extra helpful than Chris Paul. properly i do no longer think of you will accept as true with that. besides, rings are good and that i'd somewhat have rings than stats. yet they do no longer make me a extra helpful person participant than yet another participant who have been given much less expertise around him than me. 3. "... while lebron realizes this, he will win a championship himself" - so which you think of LeBron did no longer get a championship because of the fact he chosen stats? Why would he then take a seat out the 4th qtr sometimes while the Cavs win -- shouldn't he be there to have extra numbers? IMO, Kobe is the main experienced participant (i think of he's the final ever in that) yet LeBron enables his team extra helpful.

Wick - not much of a sports fan - but I did see on the news the other night that the girl that ran in the Olympics (and won), was stripped of her medals and other "wins" she had achieved. (Sorry cannot remember her name). So I say yes, - TAKE OUT OF RECORD BOOKS and punish them too! I think that they should be heavily fined, made to sit out a season and possibly "relieved" of their positions. CJ
BTW - I had to have HGH after a surgery - it costs A FORTUNE. That is why they get such huge pay checks.

That is a hard one Wicks. Even though guilty of juicing, they did perform. So maybe add an asterisk next to their stats to indicate that they had help (i.e., juicing) in their overall performance. This would be fair to the others who didn't.

My opinion

Personally, I think that the outrageously high salaries should all be done away with. Take away the NEED to perform like supermen.

Then you just have a group of incredibly gifted athletes performing "above average" for a salary that is "above average" than that available in the "real world" for people of his equivalent performance.

And with no multi-million dollar salaries to pay, we ordinary people just may be able to actually get out and enjoy a game once in awhile, instead of having to choose between putting food in our kids mouths, or taking in a game for entertainment!!

stats really mean nothing anyway --- take the babe he play in say st louis road a train all day and night and got off the train and play a double hitter the next day --- can you compare that to a playe who flew only two hours got a fulls day rest and than went out play one game!!! i thing the true fan will remember what is going down and most will not be voted into the hall of fame and that will really hurt them in the long run!!!

Nothing! These guys are paid the big bucks to break records, to give exciting games, to, in general, be entertainers...they must be "supermen" to make it in pro sports. IF sports fans are forced to watch only the "average gifted athlete," fans will fall away for lack of exciting games...it is part of the package...it is called science, and so far, the federal government has conducted little or NO research as to the benefits or detriments of the sensible use of steroids...only studies that I have read are from Europe, where ADULTS using mild steroids only perform better..so what is the big deal? It is called, "Pro Sports." But again, Big Brother is sticking to its guns formed in the mid 50's when the USSR walked in, juiced into a coma, and beat us into the ground...since then, the US Government has done nothing but ban, ban, ban! No studies, no nothing, just ignorant banning of anything steroidal in nature. Steroid use, if done sanely, does not lead to "roid rage," ... but it does give about a 4-5% advantage to the user, and that is what people want to see. IF they want to see ordinary people playing baseball, they can go to their park and watch. I, for one, could care less. The instances of "roid Rage" are very few in reality, and only then, when massive use of steroids has been done.. The funny part is, massive use does not do more than marginal use does...but it does affect the brain if abused, but then, so does alcohol! Goldwing.

I think it is sad that they have to resort to this but it is the nature of the beast, you want them big huge pay checks you have to produce so you basically cheat. I just want to know how he got his information for real cause I think there are more than those few that have done it. I guess I would say nothing but they would have to agree to get tested for the rest of their career or retire.
