1 stockton(passer)
2 kidd(passer)
3 gary payton(scorer and passer
4 magic jonhson(scorer and passer
5 steve nash(scorer and passer
notable names:
penny hardaway, isiah thomas, bob cousy, chauncey billups, the big o (oscer roberston), a.i
the reason i would put kidd and stockton at the top because they are the true point gaurds that effect the game by their creative passing unlike the new version of the point gaurd ala nash and thomas and a.i. who do both score and pass to effect the outcome of the games for his organization

A true point guard is one who can dominate a game without even scoring 10 points. There are great guards who had lots of assists like Jerry West and Oscar Robertson, but they were more known as scorers and if they scored like 12 points in a game, it would be considered a bad game for them.

A point guard who can dominate a game while taking only 6 shots or less is the one we're talking about.

1. Magic Johnson

2. John Stockton

3. Jason Kidd

4. Maurice Cheeks - great Sixers guard of 80's, teammate of Dr. J, Moses Malone, Bobby Jones, Charles Barkley, etc.

5. Kevin Porter - Washington and Detroit guard of 70's who wasn't a scorer but led league in assists many times and once had 29 assists in one 1978 game which was the record til 1990 or so when Scott Skiles had 30.

All of them, TRUE "point guards"
