It is one of my favorites. I treat myself on my birthday. But for Christmas my sister and I are going to go buffet style.

Since we have grandchildren living in the house my husband has come up with the idea that Hoagie's are the easiest. Leave us to relax and play with the new toys etc. So it will be soft bread, loads of sliced meat, cheeses, pickles, onions, lettuce and tomatoes, mayo, mustard, vinegar etc with chips and dips.
Till he came into my life I always thought it was a a day for cooking but he has changed all that and it works out fine for us. The kids make several desserts on the eve. They all leave for a few hours mid day to visit their outlaws so we get to nap and/or read.
New traditions are just fine by me.

I gave out my recipe to a youngster a few days ago.

She was cooking her first standing rib for this Christmas.

The family went out for thanksgiving.... no turkey left over so we are having turkey for Christmas.

Roast is my husband's favorite meal any time of the year. I'm not sure what we'll have for Christmas. It will depend on if we're home or visiting. We usually have a spiral cut ham. ---Luvs

Nope. It is going to be good old turkey for us. But then our Canadian Thanksgiving falls in the first half of October...lots of time between that and Christmas, so we don't feel like we are having one turkey meal right on top of another. (In our house, we eat turkey for Easter too--what can I say, we LOVE our turkey!!)

Not this year. This year its ham. Last year the prime rib of beef was divine but my Yorkshire pudding was awful. Next year I'll try again.
