Its hockey, thats how its played.
Would you rather they all stayed away from you, and let you do what you wanted. I have played with females, and they hated it when guys went easy on them. Be glad your accepted, and play the game. No need to look any further than that,

don't take it seriously. they are just being guys. thats how we are. maybe he is starting to take you seriously. i mean no offence by this, im saying that maybe you have improved a lot & hes taking you seriously. dont worry its a compliment. i wouldnt take this in a bad way.
