I don't believe that's true, and it takes some critical thinking skills to look beneath the surface at their record to align what they are saying to what they have done. If there's more congruence than not, you probably have a pretty honest person. Governing is not something done by an individual, and lots of compromises have to be made to get support to get issues through the channels, so strong positions that get someone electec often have to be modified in practice. Again, look for congruance and consistency.

cwstuffff, not EVERYONE in the bible belt is fooled by dishonest politicians, and anyway, the current president would not have been elected had all the states not supported his stupid *** the way they did--the bible belt didn't elect him. Voters in ALL the states supported him to the point where one state delivered the tie-breaker. I believe the election was stolen, but that's another issue. The bible belt gets ripped for everything wrong with the country, but the bulk of the population is not in the bible belt, and that statement gives far more power to a small population than it deserves. Don't scapegoat the bible belt. There are as many intelligent voters here as anywhere else.

You want to know how many people a political parasite is fooling? Just look at their support in the polls and remember the margin or error is plus or minus 5%. That'll give you a pretty fair estimate.

Every one that is in politics, i reckon joined it for the best of reasons.
Except some, but that's probably answered in another Q.
The thing is, once in office, the absolute majority get 'sucked in' to the power buzz.
And once they're in the 'grinder', they'll lie and cheat the way to Lordship.
And then a bit more for good measure.

they are and continue to, and have been fooling the gullible, naive, voting public since the time of the first election back in the 1700's..it's just the nature of the beast,,they couldn't tell the truth if they tried...sad isn't it??...having said that i still favor our system over, say, a dictatorship...there's still hope folks..
