im a freshmen, taking geometry.
and they're killing me like i get the CONCEPT.
but i just cant liek get it on paper....

Try proving something you can rather then something you can't. Prove a property of something rather than proving the actual thing. Think out of the box.

If you mean t-charts and stuff with statement and reasons and stuff, than its pretty easy to understand. Statement is basicly what you can tell from the picture given and a reason is a therom or postulate:Listed in almost all geometry books. Other than just postulates their are other factors that can be used as an anwser.Cant realy go into great detail but if you find a geometry book or site you can learn it easier. At first its long and confusing but you can catch on to it real quick.

okay i have a 102 in my geometry class and im a freshmen so i think i fit the requirement! idk ill try..
basically a proof needs to really prove something. its saying that this is this b/c of that and that is that b/c of this.
the main question to ask yourself during geometry is how do these figures relate? there is ALWays going to be a relationship between the figures. by figures i mean angles, lines, shapes, basically whatever the question is talking about.
if their was no relationship between the figures, you wouldn't be able to prove anything. okay to set up a standard proof, by this i mean not a paragraph proof. you make two columns. over one you put statement, and the other reason.
listen to what's going on in class and fill it out. under the statement column is should look like this basically:
angle abc is congruent to angle def
under the reason column it should look like this
alternate exterior angles theorem
ofcourse this totally depends what the proof is.

ahh...we just got done with proof...tok a test on it and aced it...well in my class we use proofs to see if a triangle is = to the other triangle....there are post. and theorm(spelling?) like ASA or SAS...there are 5 ways to prove if a triangle is congruent to the other triangle....sometime the problem ask u stuff you have learn earlier in the class...like we have to use the Alternative inter. or exter. and so.....the reflexive property..but that is the highschool level....

Basically proofs ask you to find the size of two or more sides and show that they are equal to whatever they ask you to. Try naming those sides 'X' because it makes it easier to solve problems.

Simple as I can make it.:
With proofs, you take the things you know,
and use them to prove the thing asked for.
"If this is true, and this is true, then this other
thing must also be true."
Diagrams help.
