Aryeh,

I truly have joy in my heart. I am not a religious zealot but I do believe in God. The trick to joy, Aryeh, is to appreciate the things that God has given you: Air to breathe, a heart that beats, a brain that functions better than average, friends that love us, etc., etc.

I know it sounds pat, but you see, if you are always looking around at the things that you don't have, how can you ever appreciate the things that you do have??

I am not someone who has no troubles in life. My daughter suffered a critical injury at birth, and though her brain functions, it doesn't function like it should, but I am happy because she is here. Where we used to make a really good financial living, I had to quit my job because she needed me more. We have our struggles and we don't have family to help us in our struggle to provide a normal life for our little girl, but because we are happy and joyful, our children do not know or understand our struggles, because even though at this moment we have $18.00 in quarters, nickels and dimes and no idea when the next money is coming in, we have each other, we have our children, and more importantly, we have Yeshua, the promise of God.

You can call me a nut if you want to; it won't hurt my feelings (I've been called worse), but you ask seriously and so I tell you honestly, I have lived my life with God and I have lived my life without God. With is better. I can cope. And I have hope, a hope that does not die.

Sincerely,

Rebecca

I don't feel that I have have to be religious to experience joy and wonder. If I look at a beautiful day or the infinite size of the universe of multitudes of creatures that inhabit this Earth then I do feel a sense of joy and wonder that is marvellous. I realise how lucky I am to be alive right now, living the life that I live. It is a blessing.
