Evolution is a theory in the same sense that the theory of gravity, theory of relativity, and theory of thermodynamics is a theory. It is shown to be true by overwhelming fact and observation.

Do not be poisoned by Creationists and Intelligent Design advocates who try to place Creationism on the same level as evolution. Creationism is a theory in this sense: I see a rock fly over a cliff, so I theorize that someone threw it over. It is merely a guess with little to no supporting evidence--complete and total speculation. Creationists exploit these multiple connotations of theory and the lack of understanding people have of the scientific meaning of theory to distort people's understanding of evolution as a scientific reality.

How can someone know for a FACT something is 27 billion years old? You can't. Yet evolution is taught as fact. Ridiculous in my opinion. Evolution is an attempt to explain the origins of man. Some subscribe to this theory and some, like me, do not.

Yes, evolution is a theory in that it has scientific basis, but hasn't yet been proven beyond all doubt.

Creationism is NOT a theory because it has absolutely no basis in fact. Just faith.

Yes, evolution is a theory proposed by many people, but the most recognized is Darwin. He believed in survival of the fittest, and that mother natures evolves certain kinds of species to sort of experiment with them to see what would better help them adapt or protect themselves in their environment.

Evolution is a theory and a fact. It is a fact that evolution has occurred - we can see it happening, we can see the record of it in fossils and genetic evidence, it is confirmed by every field of science. The theory of evolution explains how and why the fact of evolution happens.

Yes, it is a theory just as creationism is a theory. It cannot be proven, only suggested. Also where is the "missing link". it hasn't and i bet will NOT be "found".
