should I risk getting a game if the person has a lot of different games (that I can't read through), or should I get like $100 gift card? This is for a birthday, not the Winter Solstice.

I'm an avid gamer myself, and I would have to say go with the gift card for sure. That way they can decide exactly what game they want on their own, and you don't have to stress about getting the wrong one.

Never get a avid gamer a game. Gamer's "like myself" are usually very picky. He will definitely appreciate a $100 gift card to a games store. That will truly be a surprise.

I also think that you should just get him a gift card. I prefer to get giftcards instead of presents anyways because I can go and pick out what I want.

You don't want to buy a game for him that he never really wanted, I say just play it safe and get him a Gift Card from Best Buy or some type of store like that.

Well, anyone can tell you to get him Modern Warfare 3 but I personally do not like the games. Check to see if he has any Call of Duty games and if he does you should get him MW3 but if he doesnt he probably doesnt like it. May I suggest Gears of War 3? It just came out a while ago and it has great graphics and great gameplay. Also, try and listen to what he likes, so you can really get him what he wants without blowing the surprise.
