Does this sound like a legitimate degree? I mean I am going for a Masters of Professional Studies in International Managment. Will this look good on a resume?

This degree is offered at many colleges (SUNY for example) and is usually a program for people who have been in the workforce already and wish to advance their skills in their profession. It's less about academics than actually learning to do.

one college writes "The Master of Professional Studies is an advanced management qualification aimed at middle and senior managers who wish to build upon their experience."

Add: Jann, that list of colleges from UTexas says that the colleges you suggest people "steer clear" of are ok. Look in Arizona for UPhoenix, in DC for Strayer, in IL for DeVry,.... those are accredited colleges too. Did you mean "only look at schools with a high prestige level"? Accreditation doesn't mean the school is well regarded just as size isn't a valid measure. UPhoenix is the largest college (by enrollment) in the US -- proof that bigger isn't always better.

I would only go with well-known accredited colleges. Please steer clear of online, for-profit schools such as university of phoenix, strayer u, devry u and such. Former students of u of phoenix started this site: http://www.uopsucks.com

For US colleges: http://www.utexas.edu/world/univ

For career info: http://www.bls.gov/oco type into search.
