Thoughts?

LITY- Not going to believe this but my first thought was, "who is Selanne going to play with then?" Maybe Koivu is being looked at.

LITY- I just answered the Q on if the Flyers had chose Kane. Do you agree with me that he wouldn't even be in the NHL? I know the Flyers like James VanR and Turris better anyways but.......I'd like your opinion in that Q.
Puckdat- Apparently Weight hasn't looked all that bad, a shell of his former self but not as if MacDonald was tearing it up and they get to hang onto Schneider which REALLY is better for now and especially next year when Niedermayer re-retires. So, beats trading Schneider.

Also Mike, if you look at MacDonald, the only time he has ever been better than average is with Teemu, without him he has been just another player.

Really Erica- I am a "little" surprised. Seems alot of his success 2 years ago was due to playing with Radulov in the Q. Thus, the fall at the draft. His work ethic has also been questioned. Still thought he might make the team though.

LITY- Hartsburg not finding a permanent spot for Tavares? Please explain?

LITY- Did not know that but to me it comes as no surprise whatsoever. If you look back at others who have made the team as youngsters (albeit Tavares is 17, not 16) like Jason Spezza and Sidney Crosby, their ice time was actually at a minimum, spot shifting here and there and getting some PP time to use their skill. I think they look at it as though they will get their chance to have ice time when they are older. PLUS, I think many of these other players are more game ready than Tavares right now-at least if the Super Series was any indication- I thought guys like Giroux and Turris were better by a good margin.

Snoop- Good points and possible except for the fact that -
Teemu and Kariya tried that duet a couple of years ago in Denver.
I think MacDonald had success because of Teemu, not vice versa.
Last but not least, Teemu was quoted in a Finnish newspaper last week as saying that if he comes back, it would only be to the Ducks.

No Dirt- No doubt, people change their minds. Remember Clemens had all kinds of stuff in his contract too, like going home between starts and whatnot but anything is possible. Teemu did say this BEFORE the trade but I don't think MacDonald being gone would sway his decision.

My first thought was 'Selanne isn't coming back'.
If he was, they wouldn't have traded his linemate of the last two years.
Bob - you hit the nail on the head in that answer.
On September 10th, Savard and Tallon were intent on giving Kane every chance to make the club but were still expecting to send him back to London. He was a mild surprise. But you are correct in thinking that if Philadelphia had picked him, he'd be tearing up the the OHL.
What's your opinion on Hartsburgh not finding a permanent spot for Tavares?
Hartsburgh set his 4 lines for the tourney today, Tavares is the 13th forward who will cycle through the lines and play on the PP 'a bit'.

Is that Doug Weight or Dead Weight? He seems to have lost a few steps.
Blues got better in a hurry. Does MacDonald play with Kariya or Stempniak?
You're only as good as your linemates. Who has Andy Mac played with this year? Weight on the other hand has had time on the top two lines with some of the Blues up-and-comers but only scored his first goal last week.
Mike: Can't see my reg email account at work. I'll look at it when I get off at midnight.

Bob, how's this for a scenario? Teemu Selanne (who is a free agent and owes nothing further to the Ducks) does come back...to the Blues! Look at the points:
1. Andy McDonald was his go-to assist man with the Ducks.
2. Selanne's best friend Paul Kariya happens to play on the Blues.
3. Selanne+up-and-coming Blues team (flush with talent and solid goaltending)+incentive to win Stanley Cup with buddy Kariya= freaking scary team in the Central division (and worthy thorn in Detroit's side not named Chicago).

Oh, don't forget Michal Birner also went to Anaheim. Wait... who the hell is that?? Lol.
I think LITY's spot-on there.
You just want to be right about Koivu leaving Montreal, especially if it's to Anaheim, Bob. :P
ADD: OH, oh... And I think you totally jinxed my chances of seeing Esposito play in World Juniors, by the way. He's been cut. So thaaanks. (Aww man, seeing him in practices just wasn't enough...)

Are you effin kidding me?!?!? Stupid move by the Ducks. McDonald is much younger than Weight and he is better than Weight. I know they needed to clear space, but I just don't like this move.

PuckDat: I offered you a new trade lol. Gonna accept? It's better.
