A history book won't do for this one. Tough question.
This will take some time - - - - These are correct.

1942 Fri. May 1st - - United States Naval Base and United States Naval Auxiliary Air Facility, Great Exuma, Bahama Islands, and United States Naval Base, Grand Cayman, British West Indies, are established.

1942 July 4th - - six American crews from the 15th Bombardment Group (Light) together with six RAF crews were dispatched from RAF Swanton Morley, Norfolk, on a daylight sweep against four German airfields in the Netherlands. It was the first time American airmen had flown in American-built bombers against a German target.
[ I looked up U.S. 8th Air Force history.]

1942 July 7th - - the U-701 surfaced for the last time. It was sunk by U S. army aircraft off North Carolina.

1942 July 13th - - The German submarine U-153 was sunk by the USS Lansdowne off the coast of Panama .

1942 August 20th - - Patrol Wing 11 was commissioned on 15 August 1942, in Norfolk, Va. - but 5 days later the Wing moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico, for operations under the Caribbean Sea Frontier.

Can’t say, don’t know. Maybe before Pearl Harbor. The navy got several bases in the BWI islands as part of Lend-Lease

U-153 - Sunk 13 July, 1942 near Colon (Panama), in position 09.46N, 81.29W, by depth charges from the US destroyer USS Lansdowne. 52 dead (all hands lost).

The US 8th Air Force, with 937 bombers and 613 fighters, carries out the heaviest attack to date against Berlin which levels large areas of the city and kills more than 25,000 civilians.

U-701- July 17, 1942

Grand Cayman - May 1, 1942

Patrol Wing Eleven was commissioned on August 15, 1942 in Norfolk, Virginia. Five days the the Wing moved to San Juan, PR.
