someones life doesnt revolve around their ex because....becoming an ex hurts why would you want to remember?

Well, they can't forget their ex-wife, especially if they have children. A better way for you to get your answer would be to ask yourself the same questions! Of course, they are going to remember these people that they were intimate with, but they won't fixate on it if they are truly ready in their hearts and lives to move on and be with someone else.

Sometimes men hold an ex or first gf/wife very dearly, especially if she left him unexpectedly and they had no serious problems. other then that i'm sure that he probably doesn't want to leave and get back with her because he knows things didn't work out for a reason.

I think most would. My first boyfriend still calls from time to time, just to catch up - I'm married and he's engaged.
Edit: I misread the second part of the question... we talk but are definitely not interested in getting back together. We're good friends and that's it.

I think a big NO...when my dad and mom met again on my highschool grad after 6 years of not seeing each other..I can really sense that my dad did miss my mom and vice versa...It was really funny, coz I never expected them to sit next to each other...so i wasn't looking..my bestfriend was my spy...she told me that they looked really cute..they were like old friends just chatting happily...
then after the grad, we had dinner together...
a few days after I went to my mom's house..she said that she still really felt something for my dad...he was her first love..since they she was 15 and they wed when she was 23....
but then they can no longer turn back time...she cheated on him and got prego...i bet she really regretted it....
my dad recently married a highschool classmate..i know he's now truly happy...
btw, i stay with my dad...

I don't remember every single guy I dated when I was younger, of course. But the ones who were around long enough to have feelings similar to love, yes.
My husband remembers his first girlfriend. We were comparing stories. Mine was a nerd. His was a fat girl he was friends with. Oh, young "love."
