Yes, Bad Religion have hit the proverbial nail on the head: the fascination that many Americans have with serial killers is an easily identifiable part of American culture. You are not the only one who shares this curiosity.
I must admit I am curious too - what is the title of the song, and from which of their 20 CDs/LPs is the song on?

Ed Gein - man in the 50's that killed and skinned his victims to fashion clothes and furniture out of the skin.
Gein was the basis for Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies.
