Because he's the greatest player that "this" generation has actually had the opportunity to watch play. I often argue this same argument in football when people don't bring up Johnny Unitas as the greatest QB ever. Your run of the mill fan is going to go with what is familiar to them. Just like I'm sure the next generation will be talking about Kobe Bryant or LeBron James instead of Jordan when they get older. If you go out and ask an average (I'm not saying this is the rule, but I'm taking about the majority) 16 year old about who Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, and/or Pete Maravich is chances are a lot of them are going to look at you dumbfounded. People go with what they've seen and what they grew up watching majority of the time. And in my opinion, best player of all time is Wilt Chamberlain....w/ Bill Russell not far behind (the best player doesn't always have the most championships).

Jordan was a weak-armed oufielder with little power at the plate and little speed on the basepaths. If Nate Robinson switches to baseball he could probably come close to Jordan.

I dont think that Nate is even close to jordan. Nate is about 6 foot, while MJ is 6'5. Jordan played for chicago nate plays with knicks. Even in the dunk contests robinson will never be as good as MJ. The only thing that they trully have in common is that they are both black.

lets just say he is the Micheal Jordan for his size. I think that will be the best after he won the 2006 Slam Dunk Contest to become the shortest player to win it.
