Restart you computer in safe mode and try to uninstall that way. To enter safe mode, press f8 while the computer is booting. You'll be given a few options one of which is safe mode. After entering safe mode, go into add/remove programs and uninstall CA.
You may want to use another AV Software package. The one I really like and have used for a couple of years (and is absolutely free) is avast!. It's very fast and unintrusive.

OK, this is a situation which just burns my bacon! I am so sick of security software enticing users to download and install their stuff, and not explaining how difficult it is to get rid of it. How if you don't properly rid your system of it that you are left with a holy mess, and often users will even think it is properly removed, install a new product with firewall and/or anti-virus and crash their systems, or end up with an unstable system which is not properly protected because of the conflicts between the programs.
Now, most all of these security programs, except for spyware programs need a "special" removal tool, and you need to run in while in Safe Mode because it programs which are activated can not be properly removed, if removed at all.
Go to the website where you obtained the program and then click on the link for support. When there, enter a search term for a "uninstall", or, "special removal tool", or "remove", try different combinations, and eventually you should come up with a page which offers the tool and directions on how to use it.
If you are unable to locate the tool, email the technical support requesting the tool and instructions on how to properly remove it.
I will do a quick search and see if I can find the tool for you, hold on.

I couldn't find the tool, but there are some links to help you out. If you have any issues, go to the support site and locate the email address and get technical assistance.
Please note to take care with the removal, because it can appear to be removed but remnents can be left behind which cause a lot of trouble.
Good luck and I hope you have a great holiday.
*Note* IMPORTANT Do the removal in Safe Mode.
To enter Safe Mode, reboot. After the manufacturer logo begin gently tapping F8 until a black screen with options appears.
If you reach the Windows logo, start over.
In the list use the arrow keys and highlight Safe Mode and press Enter. Select your OS in the next screen and press Enter again.
Numbers and letters will scroll down, this is normal. Eventually a second Welcome Screen will appear. Use an Admin account, doesn't matter which one, put in password if needed, and press Enter.
A huge white sign will greet you offering entry to Safe Mode or System Restore. Select Safe Mode, you can always use System Restore at a later date.
Wait, how long ago did you install this software? If in the last two weeks you can use System Restore to remove the software. If this is the case click System Restore, and follow the prompts to select a date prior to the date you installed the program. When finished, it will reboot into Normal Mode, and see if it is gone, by using the Manual instructions to look for the files it details.
If longer than two weeks continue into Safe Mode and remove per instructions given in the links above.
Read ALL of the instructions and print them out before actually beginning the remove operation.
Good luck and much success!

You didn't say what operating system you are currently running. Assuming it is WinXP:
- use Task Manager (ctrl-alt-del) to see what all is running in the Processes tab
- END TASK any process that comes from that program
- Close out of Task Manager and try again.
If you still are not able to uninstall: Check what is running in your Systray (by the clock) and CLOSE the Anti-virus program there.
Then, use MSCONFIG to turn off all programs NOT needed to run all the time. For you, make sure all parts of that program are UNCHECKED. Then re-boot the computer for the changes to take effect.
Once re-booted, go back to Task Manager and again END TASK all parts of that program.
Try again to uninstall.
If all the above fails, and ONLY after ALL the above fails, use MY COMPUTER to navigate to where the program is installed. Delete the folder for the program. REPEAT - DO NOT JUST DO THIS STEP FIRST. Most often, you will NOT be able to remove it completely, so this is a LAST RESORT!!!!
Good luck!

all of us can agree unemployment is severe. it somewhat is going to take time for the financial device to get better. After unemployment grew to become into the top below the Reagan administration, it took 2 years before unemployment dropped to a suitable point. it somewhat is going to take a minimum of that long. What Obama financial rules stopped is the financial panic that gripped the rustic final October. I even have heard from a inventory broking provider communicate approximately his concern of a run on financial company. Bailouts stopped that.
