Anyway, the best thing would be to try and actually plug the laptop in while watching long movies, or even short sitcoms. This way you can conserve a great deal of your batteries lifetime.

There are different setting profiles for power consumption and you can set it to one which uses max, to one which uses min, and in between. A new dialog box will open which has anywhere from two to four tabs, depending on what type of hardware you use, and the features of your particular computer and video card manufacturer. It can be confusing knowing which changes where made and which were the original if you basically overwrite the original.
