Watching movie actually use the most out from you battery. If you have you movie display with smaller screen, the battery will last a little bit longer. I like to watch movie on my Vaio, too.

The best thing to do if you wish to have your laptop batteries last as long as possible, and this I am assumming you mean the life of the battery, not any given period of battery activity, is that correct? Hope so! ;-)

Anyway, the best thing would be to try and actually plug the laptop in while watching long movies, or even short sitcoms. This way you can conserve a great deal of your batteries lifetime.

Now, if is to reduce the consumption of battery charge per usage, I would say go into your power settings and set it to max battery save. There are different setting profiles for power consumption and you can set it to one which uses max, to one which uses min, and in between. If it is XP, right click on your desktop and click on Properties, and then click on the Screensaver tab, and then click on Power settings.

A new dialog box will open which has anywhere from two to four tabs, depending on what type of hardware you use, and the features of your particular computer and video card manufacturer. There is a drop down list where you can view the different options, and you can actually create you own personal settings.

To create your own settings, pick the Power Profile which closest matches what you wish to accomplish. Change the settins as you would like, and then click Save as, and name your profile. I always use the pre-existing profile I started with and then add a choice word or two to desribe what I did. I do this so I know which original Profile was used to create the personally configured one, so if I need to I can undo it and start over, while leaving the original untouched. It can be confusing knowing which changes where made and which were the original if you basically overwrite the original.

Anyway, hope this helps some. Good luck and please have a happy holiday season.

Disconnect the battery on each occasion it extremely is at a hundred% and you're plugged in. additionally while you're doing rather in intensity initiatives, then attempt to accomplish that with the battery disconnected and the computer plugged in. do no longer completely fee the battery then unplug till low then plug lower back in except you do not have get entry to to skill. Li-ion batteries have a constrained sort of fees. they have not got a "reminiscence" like older batteries.

Not using the optical (dvd) drive will save a lot of battery. If you like watching movies, go digital. Convert your dvds using dvd next copy or dvd shrink so the optical drive will not need to be used. Or you can always rent/buy digital from amazon unbox, movilink, etc.
