I don't have a problem with girls playing football, especially in the younger years. The older you get, the more danger there is of serious injury for sure. Girls can play certain positions I am sure. The higher up you go, I would think it will only be kicker. You might think you are tough but I find it hard to believe that you are tougher than 98% of the guys you have met, unless you are talking somewhere crazy or you haven't met that many guys in your life. I would never tell someone that can't do anything, but that doesn't mean they can actually make the team. If they don't get cut, then they are my teammate and I would respect that. I just think it would be very hard to make a really good football team being a girl.

It depends on the position....there is nothing wrong with a girl playing the position of kicker or punter, but the fact of the matter is this, and I apologize if it offends anyone, but women are not the same as men in physicality. Say whatever you want, but the strongest man will always be more powerful than the strongest woman, and that is just genetics. To put it a better way, one of the most gifted woman athletically as Jackie Joyner Kersee, however, she would not have been able to compete with the best men in the same competitions, whether it be the 100M dash, the long jump, or powerlifting, it is just the way that it is, and I truly wish I had a better answer, but I don't.

I think you should be able to play football, but on a female team. It's not that you don't have the skill or the understanding. Men tend to be physically built larger than most ladies. Have you seen the size of the boys that play college level and professional football. You may be tougher than 98% of the guys you meet, but I bet 98% of the guys you meet don't play college level or pro football.

Absolutley NOTHING is wrong with playing football.
Just...for some girls, football is not their "bag of chips" if you get what I mean. It's not for the more "preppy" types out there.
And I cannot stand guys who think girls can't play football! I mean, come on! Just because we're girls does not mean we can't take being tackled or playing rough.
And go you for going out for the team!
^_^

Not with BOYS, sure there is nothing wrong with girls playing, but against other girls. It's not physically possible to even try to hang with men on the field after a certain age or class.

I wounder how old are you,but if I don't think you'll like football ( at least to play it with men in college )when you're 20 years old.Its a man sport. Its tough and physical.Men tackling girls is not a very good thing to see on the football feild.Men sees the game slower then women so the game is more tougher.

Sure. But since you are too small, and too slow, and too weak to play with boys you should start your own teams, conferences, and leagues. After all, girls are smart enough to have half the money and all the *****.
I'll bet that as a blind-date you are described as having a great personality. Am I right?

Because girls are not physically tough enough to play football. It's far from the stereotype, it's the truth. Guys figures and size of their muscles allow them to go out and be physical constantly. Our bodies were MADE like that. Women's bodies were made for having kids. Do you realize how badly hurt they could be? The slightest hit from the smallest male on the team could rupture something in a female. It's not safe.
And "tougher" and "stronger" are two different terms sweetheart.

Most girls of college age cannot compete with guys because they have a lot better upper body strength than we do. Also they are usually heavier and it can cause health problems for us too if we get hit in the breast area. I always wanted to play football myself, but the physical limitations are there. No one can change that.
However, since my college was so small I got to play Center on my team because I was the only one who could hike the ball to the quarterback who was also female. The opposing Center was a 300 pound guy. I always ended up plowing the grass after the ball was hiked. :-) But it was just for fun during PE.
