I bought an HP laptop with windows Vista on it.

I have a PC with XP on it.

I have a PC with ME on it.

I have networked the two PC's, but I can't seem to get the laptop into the network.

Any Suggestions?

Bill

Well, The following items are required.

1. All machines must have the exact same Workgroup Name.
2. They must all be connected to the same network.
3. They must all have file and printer sharing enabled (or they won't "see" each other..
4. The firewalls all have to allow the LOCAL network.

Check the two that are working. Get the Workgroup Name. You can take the XP, right click on "My Computer" Click properties. Click on the "Compter Name": tab to find the current workgroup.

Then on the vista laptop just run the network setup wizard and match it up. Should just connect and work. If not I would say turn off all the firewalls and see if they show up then. If they do just work on the firewall settings.

Microsoft has alot of info for you just hit the support site.
The ME may well give you issues!

Merry Christmas and God Bless
