Well Alanis is my favorite musician too. (i saw her in concert for the first time this year). And it really depends on what aspect of Alanis' music draws you. if you are looking for people similar to her Jagged Little Pill days i would go with Meridith Brooks, Duncan Shiek, Edie Brickell, Maybe a bit of Tracy Chapman, I like Ferras and Jay Brannan a lot but they might not be very much like her, garbage is just a little more hard core than she is but they are good, Shawn Colvin or Suzanne Vega are both more folksy than she is but they have the same "singer/songwriter" vibe that Alanis can have at times. Melissa Etheridge has a few songs that i can see Alanis singing, Paula Cole is again much softer sounding but she is really good too. KT Tunstall's newest cd. Lesley Roy. Liz Phair, the like her more recent stuff is similar to Frou Frou (probably because the guy who produces frou frou did alanis' latest album), Imogene Heap (The singer from frou frou but she has 2 solo cd's). Maybe Kate Havnevik, CSS. Lily Allen's new album If you are just looking for good writing i would suggest Jewel, or Tegan & Sara hope this helped, Cameron
