Have an electrician install the right plug for the oven. Call the gas company to disconnect the old oven. Plug in the new one and you should be ready to bake. I am curious why you would want to switch from gas to electric. In a power outage the gas oven will still work. That is enough to make me want gas.

unless you can wear two hats (Gas fitter and electrician) and some knowledge of shutting off and capping the gas feed you can do it.Shut off the gas at the rear of the stove and disconnect the lines. It will probably have a flexible connect hose. Pull the stove away from the wall and unplug the cord. This is what feeds your controls , lights and clock/timer. Take the stove away. Now you will have to put a cap on the gas line. Or cap it in the basement after turning off the main and remove the gas line up to the stove. Don't forget to relight the pilots in other appliances. Use pipe dope for the threads, not teflon tape.
I am assuming you have the new electric stove and it's out of the box. Before doing any thing I would open the instruction sheet and see what they tell you to use for wiring. It could be hard wired into a 4 inch box or a plug. As long as this is not a 6 burner you will probably need a 50 amp 2 pole breaker and run a 6-3 with gnd to the stove. You will have to get a 50 amp cord for the stove with a matching outlet. A picture is worth a thousand words so go to HammerZone.Com and look at the steps to install the box. Step 1 to the end in nice easy to see and understand pictures. That's it. the stove is designed to use one leg of the 220v for clocks lights etc

The electrical energy grant for the gas ignition is amazingly low present day and is totally secure taken from a 13A wall socket. once you looked in the process the window did you notice a Cooker administration change? this could be a unmarried super change, in many instances sharing a panel with a 13A socket. Your latest electric cooker might have one. in the adventure that your new homestead has a style of then you definately could be somewhat optimistic that there will be a suitable connection ingredient on your cooker. It isn't seen by using a window because of the fact it's going to be on the wall at the back of the prevailing gas cooker. The vendors probably did no longer use the cooker connector for the ignition gadget of their gas cooker because of the fact it ought to have been provided with a plug linked. it could be much less stressful to easily plug it in somewhat than taking the plug off and wiring it to a connector block.
