Persistence with a charming character can get you really far in whatever you do, because people love you and you keep talking to them and they don't mind, it gets you in with a lot of people and the more people you are connected to the bigger your connection extends. Talent is good but you have to be the BEST at what you do or a lot of people don't notice you. The best scenario would be to have a lot of talent, a charming personality and a lot of persistence to finish everything.

the most important is LUCK. you can have all the talent and work harder than anyone but if the breaks don't come your way it won't happen. you need to create your opportunities as well as spot the ones that come. success, like so many things in life, is in the timing.

Neither... It's not what you know, it's who you know. Create social relationships with people who can make a difference in your career and they will use their status in your favor. Why do you think it's so easy for rich people to stay rich? It's because they were introduced to the right people at a young age.
