No. In fact there are treatments now that might help. Even talking it over can be helpful.

no. and if you think you have it, go for it and ask your counsellor. I don't think it's likely you have social anxiety though b/c someone with social anxiety wouldn't even consider asking a counsellor b/c they'd be too scared that they'll be judged. but if you do have it, i admire your bravery. (i actually think I might have it too lol, but i would never want to ask a counsellor)
and a lot of ppl probably have social anxiety, it's the third most common psychological disorder in the US. so you're not alone. ( i recently did an essay on social anxiety disorder)

Not at all. I suffer from SAD/GAD. It is terrible and frightening. Getting help as soon as possible will either calm your fears or at least put you on the road to recovery. I've suffered for over 15 years and it's been hellish. If I had help and the internet back then, my life would be so very different. Fortunately, there are a lot of groups now. Just google and you can take the test to find out. Avoid the sites sponsored by the drug companies though. Good Luck to you.

No. It's not stupid. Maybe you are right and it would be best to share your thoughts about it. The sooner you are diagnosed, the sooner you can get help. There are effective treatments for social anxiety, including cognitive-behavioural therapy, groups, and/or medication. My sister has this disorder and there is nothing to be ashamed of. It is actually more common than you might think.

i have social anixiety disorder. i dont really like talking to counsellors (has to do with stuff in my childhood wne my bro was on drugs.... anyway) but if u really want help then i advise you to go see a counsellor. they help a lot and btw
dont be ashamed or embaressed (sp?) if you do have social anxiety disorder. its really not so horrible, there a lot of worse things out there when you think about it.

no not at all. there is a social stingma against disorders that cant be seen, a lot of people belive if they cant see a tumor on an xray ur not sick, thats very wrogn and insensitve, its hard to belive that that kind of thinking still persists but it does. dont let those few people stop u from doing something that will let u help urself and be happee ♥ *hugs*

Nope. Talk to your counselor. It's common to have social anxiety disorder, but the severity isn't always easy to figure out.

Not at all. No question or thought is ever stupid. Have a chat with your counsellor.

My brother-in-law suffers from social anxieties. He has difficulties dealing with people in public or crowds.

No, go ahead and ask. Some of these disorders are made up conditions and another way for the drug companies to push more drugs on us. You are probably just shy and don't like crowds like me. We are normal and OK.

Absolutely not! If you get extremely nervous around a new group of people where you feel it affects you- Get Help!
Your counselor will give you a series of tests and you'll get the help you need to move on and become a *sigh* success!
